As the standard-bearer of “Lillan”, you will be responsible for carrying the joint standard of Uppsala's student unions at the University’s ceremonial occasions where the student body’s guard of honour participates. A standard can be compared to a flag, but with the cloth hanging vertically from the pole, which is attached to a carrying rod.

Examples of recurring University ceremonies include the celebration of the University’s anniversary, the installation of professors, and the conferment of doctoral degrees – all held in the University Main Building’s Grand Auditorium.

Within the guard of honour there are two standards: “Storan”, representing all students of the University, and “Lillan”, representing the student unions. The standards are carried together with the thirteen nation flags.

A standard-bearer is sought to carry “Lillan” for the academic year 2025/2026.
Applicants should own formal academic attire.
